On the Red Carpet: 2011 Grammy Make-up and Hair Styles

 - by admin

So of course I had to review the red carpet looks for the 2011 Grammy Awards. I figure, why not more “expert” comments and opinions about the hottest celebs on the world wide web. Hmm, where should I start? First of all, you all know that I am a true artist, so I can definitely appreciate weird, crazy and for lack of better words, a hot mess!

I will start with the center part hair styles, classic for long hair. These three chic celebs gave us a variation of what most people would describe as boring hairstyles. HAIR:  Jennifer Hudson gave us off black (think that’s 1B/8) long and sleek tresses. MU: A combo of light smokey and cat eye for Jenn did the job! Fresh face, minimal contouring, very natural skin and lips the reminds me of Freckle Tone MAC with a touch of clear gloss. This definitely added a modelesques look to her newly embraced weight loss. Go Go Go Jenn! HAIR: Ceria modified her center part hairstyle to give us a sleek Hollywood glamour and elegant hair feel with an added touch body curls. MU: Eyebrows extended and contoured, bottom eye smoked out, and pink pouty neutral lips reminds me of SMCHEZ Contagious.

Hair:  J-Lo added some volume to her center part “long don’t care” hair-do. Some great products to achieve this look is got2b fat-tastic instant collagen infusion root booster and MATRIX Amplify Root Lifter. I’m hook on these for now. This is a definite bed head sexy look. MU: Big eyes all lashed out!! Individual lashes top and bottom will do the trick if you are lacking in the eyelash department. Light out the inner corners and darken the outer. Then take Tyra’s advice and smize. lol.

Hair: Classic Kim Look is a center part with big romance waves. MU: BIG BIG eyes!! Lots of lashes lost of mascara, I love using the colossal volume express for repeated maraca applications. Some cheek contouring to heighten those cheekbones and pucker up with a flesh tone lip color.

Rihanna rocks it with her seductive moves on stage and sexy red hair on the red carpet. Hair: She has definitely kept the red hair color consistent and branding it as her signature hair look. MU: Clean eyebrows, tamed and brushed. Light, bright eyelids to emphasize her beautiful hazel/green eyes. A hint of blush and medium auburn lips to match her hair. Her skin is soooo beautiful the red helped bring out that natural glow she has. Wish I could bottle that up!

Smiley Miley, her look can never go wrong. Hair: A blend of Light auburn low light and light golden high lights set in zigzag waves to frames her cute smiley face. MU: Definitely Black eyeliner!! This helps pop those baby blues, lips are very pale pink reminds me of MAC Snob.

Hair:  Nicki Minaj seems to love BIG HURRR! Hey Nick, can we get any bigger?? Show us whatcha got Girrlll. SO it’s really no surprise that Nicki Minaj showed up with her head blown up and show stopping! I love leopard so I can’t say anymore! MU:  Cat eyes Liner and pink Friday lips! I love it Love all of it!! Only thing I would have done different is added some lime green/emerald eye contact, to get an intense cat eye feel. But yes, I do love it! Very creative, reminds me of the Flintstones and I loovvee the Flintstones.

I Think I Made It!!

Being Made is not just about a makeover, it’s about reinventing yourself, it’s about defining who you were, who you are and who you want to become. Regardless of the life obstacles you may face, the essence of a true make over comes from the change within. That change sparks a light or a inner glow that will eventually grow and shine through, allowing people to experience the change in you.

So check out my next video. I had the opportunity to be part of Kylee’s Made experience. Kylee is an adorable young lady with passion and great devotion to her family.

Good Shoot Gone Bad!!!

 - by admin

Bad-AZZ that is!! LOL. Well, this was a fun photo shoot. It was spontaneous and creative, it reminds me why I got out from behind the Make-up counters and the Salons. The drama in the Salons can be a bit much and boring at the same time. You know what I’m saying… Don’t get me wrong, you will definitely find some drama on the set too, but for some reason it’s more exciting. LOL. Oh and it’s not always the same people so it forces you to deal and work with different personalities. Check it out…

 - by admin

So I am watching the Miss Universe competition and I really hope Yendi Phillip wins. She is doing fantastic!! I met Yendi Phillip in Jamaica about a year ago when worked on a photo shoot with her and several other Jamaican models. Yendi is one of the most positive, bright and uplifting  person that I have met in the past year. She encouraged me to read a book called “Conversations with God,” reading this book began the  much needed change in my life. I am grateful for our meeting and working together. Congrats Yendi and continued success!!! smchez.
